Dartmouth College is located in Hanover, NH, in the heart of New England, near the intersection of Interstates 89 and 91. Dartmouth and its professional schools are about 2 hours by car from Boston, 4.5 hours from New York, and 3.5 hours from Montréal. The town of Hanover, which is home to Dartmouth College including the Tuck School of Business, Thayer School of Engineering, and Dartmouth Medical School, is located on the Connecticut River, which provides the border between New Hampshire and Vermont.

By Car

From Boston and points south: follow the signs to I-93 north, past the Manchester toll booth toward Concord. Near Concord, take I-89 north to I-91 north to Exit 13 (Norwich, Vt. / Hanover, NH). Bear right off the exit ramp, cross the bridge over the Connecticut River into New Hampshire (you are now on Wheelock Street). Continue up a hill a short distance, turn left onto Thayer Engineering Drive, turn right at the top of the hill at the stop sign, and follow the curved drive a short distance around to Thayer School and Tuck School.

On weekdays, visitors are encouraged to park in the college's Dewey Field lot (see campus map) and take the campus shuttle bus to and from Tuck, Thayer, and undergraduate buildings (shuttles run every 15 minutes from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm). There are a limited number of spaces for visitors—and spaces reserved for those with disabilities—directly opposite Tuck and Thayer Schools.
