FreshAir’s mission is Improving Lives Through Novel Sensor Technology. They has developed a sensor novel technology (Patent Pending) that detects nicotine and marijuana. After 17 years and over $3M in research and development, it is the only technology currently available that detects airborne concentrations of these chemicals. The sensors may be used in a variety of devices. Cigarette and marijuana smoke contain carcinogenic toxins which pose serious health risks. The risk goes beyond initial exposure to the smoke. A widely publicized 2013 study by San Diego State University indicates that even non-smoking hotel rooms exposed to smoking have significant levels of smoking related toxins. The study also found that current decontamination techniques are ineffective, even intense cleaning is unable to remove this dangerous residue. People are exposed to these hazardous substances long after smoking takes place. FreshAir’s primary focus is development and marketing of a device that communicates to the FreshAir platform. When smoking is detected the system will immediately notify clients that smoking is taking place in a prohibited area and then generate a chart of the substance detected, proving unauthorized smoking has occurred. Effective deterrence of smoking will help protect people from unwanted exposure to these carcinogens. FreshAir will initially focus on the property management and hotel industries.
