Company Overview

EnerNOC, which stands for Energy Network Operations Center, was founded in early 2001 to be the leading provider of data communications, software, and packaged managed services to the distributed generation (DG) market.

EnerNOC's patent-pending software and network solution enable the company to remotely manage DG systems and seamlessly link them to real-time market opportunities through aggregation. EnerNOC's customers are commercial and industrial (C&I) companies looking to save money and increase the value of their existing onsite power systems. At the core of EnerNOC's efforts lies the vision that increasing the value of clean, decentralized energy technologies will accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy economy and enhance the security of domestic and global energy supply.

EnerNOC is working with customers throughout the United States who value the company's unparalleled expertise in onsite generation, asset aggregation, energy data communications, and energy market micro-transaction processing. EnerNOC was the first registered Demand Response Provider (DRP) in New England and logically spread its service areas by attaining certification as an Internet Based Communication System (IBCS) Provider by ISO New England, Inc., a Responsible Interface Party (RIP) in New York, and a Certified Demand Reserves Partnership Provider in California.

EnerNOC has grown out progressively from the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network’s early services to become a bona fide player and market leader in the Demand Response industry. EnerNOC was founded in January 2001 and subsequently became a Limited Liability Corporation in New Hampshire in November 2001. In 2003, EnerNOC was converted to a Delaware C Corporation.

EnerNOC is led by a cohesive team of experienced individuals with backgrounds at companies that include UTC Fuel Cells, Northern Power Systems, Beacon Power Corporation, Bay Networks, Cayman Systems, Deka Research & Development Corporation, Commonwealth Capital Ventures, and SolarBank. The founding team's entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding Student Advantage (NASDAQ: STAD) as well as launching other private company ventures over the past 10 years. The EnerNOC management team has over 60 years of combined experience in the fields of demand response, distributed generation, information technology, and embedded systems.

EnerNOC recently secured Series B funding of $7.7 million to bring total investment in the company to over $10 million. Current business development efforts are expanding beyond the New England region to the California and New York markets. EnerNOC is always seeking exceptional candidates for positions in the areas of customer service, database development and support, product management, sales, software support, network facility operations, and business development.
